October, and starting to think about wrapping things up for the winter!
- October 2-10, 2004. I've spent a couple weekends working on the bathroom
again. The shower tiling is mostly done, except one wall. I decided to build
a glass block wall over the window, so that moisture, etc, can't get into the
wall. Glass block is....not easy to work with. It was very difficult getting
the whole thing level and straight, and I'm sorry to say it is not quite
perfect. I also got out the tile saw and tiled around the window and cut
a few other odd-ball shapes (like where the soap dish goes). Overall, this looks
pretty darn good, an awful lot better than it did:
- I'm almost done with all the porch stuff. I still need to put the new
gutters on, I just haven't felt like working on that the past couple weekends.
I did replace the front bedroom window, which now looks a lot better. I'm getting
pretty good at putting windows in, that is for sure! Here's what the front porch
area looks like now (new front window is on the far left, oops I cut it off).
- I just don't know how much else I'm going to get done on this thing this year.
I'm away next weekend, then have a bit more time, but then the weather might
start getting in the way. I guess I can hang new windows, drywall, etc, in
cold weather but I can't mud the drywall, paint, etc, if it's below 50 degrees.
